ERVISTA

Virtual reality for ergonomics in automotive subcontracting.

ERVISTA : context

Suffering from an important competition of the emergent countries with low cost of labour, France must optimize its productivity in order to remain competitive. One of the strong points remains the innovation and, in fact, the use of equipment of virtual reality in order to improve ergonomics of the stations and the environment of the factory to reduce the rate of TMS*.

Reduction of the rate of TMS*, improvement of the quality of work, better appropriation of the station by the operators, such are the stakes that the partners of ERVISTA decided to raise together.

*musculo-skeletal disorders

ERVISTA : project

To improve ergonomics of the production stations, project ERVISTA is based on equipment of virtual reality, namely of the environments immersifs like SASCube of CLARTE.

The numerical model of the future station is projected there, on scale 1, and in relief. The operator (ergonomicist, doctor, person in charge of production, operator) while entering in the SASCube finds himself in front of the future production station, completely virtual but in conformity with reality. He can simulate handling which will be to carry out and deduce the modifications to envisage in order to improve the position of the equipment, the elements to be assembled, the luminous or sound environment station.

In order to facilitate this work around the virtual station, CLARTE develops a whole of intuitive numerical tools which are currently tested by automobile equipment industrial partners of ERVISTA (Inergy, Mann+Hummel, PCMI, Groupe AMS, Brittany teliers, Anjou Etude).
