Virtual reality technologies & Simulators applied to the Maritime transport
Le projet MARVEST est labellisé Pôle Mer.
|
|
MARVEST aims at developing software technologies for center of virtual reality and/or simulations applied to the design, maintenance and the naval exploitation. These developments aim at the increase in realism and the interactivity with the virtual models and simulations met in the naval field. The high level of realism will be given by quality of the visual and sound restitution. The interactivity with the virtual world aims at the development of software technologies real-times.
The project consists a:
- To develop a new generation of physico-realistic interactive software taking into account:
- large-sized systems (ships, factories of production, buildings) - physical properties of the materials (optics and acoustics) - techniques of simulation light and visual perception real-time - visual restitution of the room of virtual reality - techniques of sound simulation and perception real-time - restitution sound of the room of virtual reality - constraints of integration within simulations
- To integrate the whole software and hardware components in an immersive room and simulations into naval vocation
- To test, improve and validate the whole of these new technologies

MARVEST : CLARTE's contributions |
|
The kick-off of the project was carried out in January 2008. CLARTE took part in the meetings related to this project and undertook a complete study on the state of the art and the environments and constraints of virtual reality with regard to the problems of MARVEST, namely physical lighting and the spatialized sound. In addition, a study on the improvement of made homogeneous on Workbench was undertaken.
