Physical interaction on scale 1: 1 with the distant worlds.

SCALE1 : context

The numerical model became a tool impossible to circumvent in the industry of transport. But this numerical model takes all its direction only if it is interactive. It is necessary to conceive a new type of feedback system of effort which can accompany the user in his movements without obstructing him, while covering a large volume (CAVE, REALITY CENTER) and able to apply forces representative of the operations to be realized.
 

SCALE1 : project

Aim = find a device solution on return of effort allowing one or more operator(s) to work freely with one or two hands by authorizing observers presence.
This solution is based on the use from one (or two) orthese whose simulated weights and efforts would be taken again by a motorized carrier. This solution must be compatible with a comfortable use in work station 8 hours old by respecting the environmental constraints of the installations.
The awaited result is a haptic device made up of a prototype of an orthese and a technological model of the carrier motorized 2D. This device will be evaluated on an application of each industrial partner “user”.
